My Mcdonald story

I recently watched the movie "The Founder" Had been on my TBW for a while now. I liked it very much for a lot of reasons. It showed the patience and persistence of Ray Croc, his belief in his work, hardwork despite lot of initial failures and struggle. I wanted my daughter to learn from it and hence I watched it again with her. 

All she could absorb from the movie was that this guy stole the shop from the real owners and has no right to do. Also that he left his wife and married someone who was already married. 

She is only 11 years and is already learning moral policing from the surroundings. 

All my effort to explain that had it not been for Ray Croc, she would have probably not even known about the brand. Still it is wrong in her mind. 

His decision to divorce and marry again is harshly judged by the fact that a marriage is forever. 

In both the cases of business and marriage, the morality rules heavily. 

Both were the cases of being complacent and not changing with times. High time agility and our ability to adapt

Being disliked

 If only we all had the courage or rather confidence to be okay whether people like us or not. So much time and effort is spent on being liked and this people-pleasing habit does not do us good in the long term. Whatever we do, we are going to make some people upset. Some people will always expect more from us. "If only we could do this" "If only you were this" Never-ending and it takes a toll on mental health. I would rather focus on what I think is right and work on it. It can be so liberating to think that I dont have to worry about what others think of me.  Of course it requires persistence work on ourselves and is a lifelong journey. We must have that courage and faith in ourselves.

Intelligence or Endurance?

 Last week, during one of my calls, my boss was really appreciative of the fact that I am very hardworking and sincere. I try to do all the tasks assigned to me and generally be available.  And while this is a great compliment to be resilient and persistent, my stupid brain was itching that someone would say that I am very intelligent. A lot of people do find me smart and intelligent, but listening to my boss would have been kick ass.  My husband thinks that he is very smart and intelligent, and hence, he gets everything easily.  but I realize that intelligence or talent is never enough. Of course, they are needed to start something, but the real differentiator is how well you are able to handle and adapt to the change, and learn quickly.  I come from a very small place, and my parents are so proud to see where I am. Life is unfair

The only thing that makes life unfair is the delusion that it should be fair - copied from somewhere. The sheer unfairness of life or cruelty to its beings. I am averse to these mindless noisy protests that does not bring any change. Primarily done to claim your fame for a day and die a natural death after the novelty wears off. One of such marathon held last year where a contestant was training hard for a marathon and a day before the event, she got her periods. Ideally there are two ways, one is run with tampons or skip due to discomfort. No, our contestant decides that it is her moment, she wishes to raise awareness of women hygiene and hence decides to run with blood seeping through the legs and probably on the road leaving a trail all the way. This created a furore. All the camera and scribes followed this girl. This was an unprecedented sight. In a matter of no time, the girl was a celebrity of sort. Everyone wanted her interview, bytes.
